Welcome to the Year 4 Class pages for 4M&4S

Important Information

PE

We will have two PE lessons per week so children need to have their kits in school at all times. PE kits will need to be in school on a Monday, to go home on a Friday for washing. If you would prefer your child's kit to stay in school throughout the half term, then that is fine. Due to the ongoing situation, we are unable to lend children kits and they will be unable to share kits too.  

PPA

Our planning time is on a Tuesday afternoon, so Mr Castro or Miss Hirst will be seeing the children out

Spelling Test

Our spelling tests will be every Friday. New spellings will be given on Friday to be learnt for the following Friday. The children will have four/five spelling lessons a week before their spelling test on Friday afternoon so there are plenty of opportunities for lots of practise inside and out of school. 

Reading

It is vital your child reads as much as possible at home as well in school.  Do not worry if your child has brought home a different level to normal, as we want to build confidence before Year 4 objectives. Remember, we have fantastic resources like Bug Club and Reading Eggs which all the children have log ins for and can use at home and will be using in school. 

Homework

This will go home every Friday on the Homework letter and will consist of spelling words to learn for the following Friday, as well as Maths homework. This could be on MyMaths (the children have log ins) or to continue to learn their target times tables at home and on TTRockstars if they wish. The children will take part in a weekly times tables test and they will be made aware of the times table that they need to work on.
