Science

This week in science we are continuing to learn about materials and their properties.

Have a look on the bitesize page about materials https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zjty4wx/articles/zdpbcqt

Practical activities:

- Go on a materials search around your house, can you find something that is made out of -plastic, glass, wood, fabric, metal, brick) How would you describe these materials?

- Talk about why different objects are made out of certain materials. Ask your child questions like what would happen if windows were made out of paper? or pencils were made out of brick? Discuss why materials are good at their jobs.

- Have a look at the materials work sheet - can you write down what material you would use to make the silly inventions. Why would you use that material?
